Maldives is an attractive destination for Muslim tourists: Tourism Ministry

Ministry of Tourism has said that the Maldives is an attractive destination for Muslim tourists around the world.

Minister of State for Tourism Maleeh Jamal said today at a press conference after attending the World Islamic Tourism Fair held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from Thursday to Saturday last week, that the idea of Islamic tourism is growing at a fast pace.

He said that Muslim tourists are often faced with the challenges of finding the right food and prayer rooms, and that these needs are catered to in the Maldives. read more

Speaking to Vnews , Hajj Corporation’s Managing Director Yameen Idrees said that the company is greatly concerned with making investments that are in accordance with Islamic law using the money given to them, and increasing the company income to provide cheap services while maintaining their service standards. Yameen said that the President has given his guarantee of providing an island for the company to develop the resort. He added that an island had still not been chosen, and that they are currently focusing on the necessary work to be done on the policy level regarding the project.
